JCI is looking for Ireland’s Friendliest Business

JCI Ireland are delighted to launch the annual Friendly Business Awards for 2018. Inspired by the resilience and dedication of small and medium businesses across the country, the FBAs seek to recognise and reward SMEs in Ireland. Launched more than ten years ago, the awards show how smaller businesses have made incredible contributions to both community and employment.

JCI Ireland are pleased to have seven branches across country involved in running the competition and awards at a local level. The competition is running in all the following branches:

  • JCI Cork
  • JCI Donegal
  • JCI Dublin
  • JCI Fingal (Dublin)
  • JCI Galway
  • JCI Mayo
  • JCI Southside (Dublin)

This will culminate with a national awards ceremony taking place on the opening night of the annual JCI National Convention. The ceremony takes place in the Druid Theatre, Galway this year on Friday 12th October 2018. JCI Ireland seeks to promote businesses across the following six customer centric categories:

  • Customer Care
  • Community Impact
  • Digital Experience
  • Disability Access
  • Eco-Friendliness
  • Shop Layout and Design

An overall friendliest business shall also be selected and awarded the title of Ireland’s Friendliest Business.

Speaking about the awards, Laura Enache, JCI Ireland National President 2018, said “Friendly Business Awards is an initiative that is focusing on progressing the Sustainable Development Goal number 8 related to promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work. As we know the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Through Friendly Business Awards, firstly, we recognise, encourage and reward local businesses that go the extra mile for their customers, for their employees, for their suppliers, for their community and secondly, we promote the role of the SMEs in the local economy”.

The closing date for nominations is Monday, 6th August 2018. To nominate a business, go to
